InPlayUK is a social gaming app for football fans. Users can compete against each other in a daily ‘fantasy football’ style environment. Games are friendly and played for pride and ultimately, points. Entering a contest will decrease the amount of points on account but the app also offers a ‘pay for points’ style top-up.
Duality Studio built a bespoke system from the ground-up, utilising the latest backend and frontend frameworks. We worked with the React framework for the frontend to allow flexibility when it came to providing a web interface, as well as a mobile app. This also proved to be a much more cost-effective approach. The database is kept in sync with a live link to CrowdScores to ensure we received live event information. This information is then pushed out to connected users and live points are calculated. Due to the size of the site, the hosting environment automatically scaled as and when the site demands it, allowing us to be proactive rather than reactive.
